Like the Emerald Six, the Farstriders were
met with Broderick Quink at the Rusty Dragon to aid in the quest to fill in the
blanks of his map of the Riverlands.
The group heard rumours of skeletons roaming
near the Tombwood and that goblins had been attacking people on the Coast Road.
Since the Emerald Six had been looking into the Tombwood the group decided to
look into the goblin situation.
The group learned that Lonjiku Kaijitsu,
owner of the Kalastar Glassworks was sending a shipment of glass to Leechfield
and decided to accompany the driver Corian to see if they could use him as bait
to lure out the goblins. That afternoon they are attacked by goblins on the
road and they “RELEASE THE DWARF!” on them. After the battle they managed to
figure out the general direction the goblins came from, a limestone escarpment
five miles West. The group decided that they would do the honorable thing and
escort Corian to Leechfield and return to the goblin lair at a later time.

The Group entered into the Barony of
Leechfield and saw the forbidding Castle Leechfield in the distance. They
learned that Baron Simrath ruled over the area from this manor and that he was
a tyrant of a ruler in the area. That night around the campfire Whiskers told a
story of how one night of a full moon one of the elders of his Wolfkin tribe
lost control of his ability to turn into a wolfman and began slaughtering his
kin. Sadly, they had to put him down. This sort of thing occurs occasionally in
Wolfkin tribes.

On the way to Leechfield the caravan was
stalked by small twisted pine saplings that Curthain dubbed “Blood Twigs” They
managed to scare them away with fire. In Leechfield the town was somber and
felt oppressive. The group learned that the town was under the curse of Simrath
who haunted the towns people and that to say Simrath’s name was to draw his
unwanted attention on you. The group is convinced that Simrath is a vampire,
though there is little evidence to back this up. With delivery made the group
heads back to Kalastar in preparation to return to the lair of the goblin
ambushers….
