One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.” -Hunter S. Thompson

Savage Swords Saturday

Today I wanted to introduce a new weekly feature, Savage Sword Saturday. I loved these Conan comics as a kid, and I still do today. So every Saturday I'm going to post a new cover. Enjoy.

  1. The Conan series of comics were one of my favorites to read. The artistry was awesome too...not to mention chicks in rags...keep these posts coming!

  2. I'm a big fan of Savage Sword as well--though often the covers were better than the stories.

  3. I hear you Trey. I guess i have something of a soft spot since it was my first real introduction to Howard and Conan.

  4. Excellent! I recently read through the first six volumes of Dark Horse's republished 'Savage Sword' collections. Good stuff.

Like Trey points out, though, the covers (and other art) often are better than the stories themselves -- except for the ones based on REH's tales, of course!
