One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.” -Hunter S. Thompson

Once again back in the Rusty Dragon in the coastal town of Kalastar the Emerald Six gathers for a new adventure. On his way to the meeting Pax over hears children singing a rhyme while playing hop square (not hopscotch!) about the “Mutterer” a creature thought to haunt the Tombwood and come after children who don’t listen to their parents.

The Mutterer is on the roof, can’t you hear his groans? The Mutterer is in the walls; he wants to eat your bones! The Mutterer is in your room, he’ll be there through the night, The Mutterer is ‘neath your bed, and soon you’ll feel his bite! So mind your mum and dad, young one: stay quiet as a mouse, or else they’ll leave the front door wide and let him in the house!

Colby, not trusting Broderick decide to investigate the old sages home for any evidence of evil. She discovers nothing incriminating. While there Delius decide to take Quink up on his offer to borrow his mule named Sally. Then Delius scours the village looking for “Donkey Straps” which eventually a confused merchant realizes he’s actually trying to find saddlebags…

The group ponders looking into the “Old Light” a ruin in the town that Quink believes is more than it might seem. But the Pax states that “They don’t care about a stupid lighthouse”. Eventually the Group makes their way back to the Tombwood and discovers the entrance to the Tomb of Abysthor. They fight some font skeletons and discover the cause of their up rising is due to a powerful rune that has been inscribed on the ancient font in the tomb and filled with the skeletons of long dead priests and paladins of Thyr and Muir. As they continue to investigate the tomb they get the drop on three Jaghuts and acolytes of Orcus. They subdue the cultists and learn that a powerful sorcerer named Balcoth helped the Cult of Orcus create the Font of Bones to animate an army of skeletons so that the Cult can take over the area. Carlin manages to befriend the sandwich stealing Graccus and takes prisoner of Stauros and and Ingrid. They also learn that Balcoth is located on the 2nd level of the tomb, while the cult of Orcus is located on the 4th level and is controlled by a high priest named Koraashag.

Back in town Mandriff goes wild carousing and ends up owing a crime syndicate some money (600gp) and then is turned into a swine while making lewd advances towards a witch…
